In southern California we are still seeing a lot of short sales and REO’s. Looks like this trend will continue through 2011 as well. I have been focusing on short sale with buyers with all cash offers, deals are still out there.

Short sales are a great way to avoid foreclosure and are becoming commonplace in today’s market. They can be a true win win situation for everyone involved.

Great article, Anne. Education is always important. Know what you are getting into. Watching a 30 minute TV show on what they do in California – can have VASTLY different results here in the Louisville KY real estate market.

Get competent representation from a Realtor that does investments. They make you money by finding you the deal, negotiating it, and helping you to avoid the pitfalls that a lot of novices can fall into.

I am seeing the same thing as well… Since it is all about supply and demand, it seems to me that the best place to buy is where the supply is…and that right now would be at the banks’ REO dept.
